'Was Extremely Happy Hearing My Songs On Radio' - Mabel Okyere

Ghanaian gospel songstress Mabel Okyere who is currently having her song as one of the few gospel songs trending in the year 2018, has expressed her sentiments in the gospel fraternity and her music career.

In an interview on Soul winners show on Zylofon 102.1 fm with Kwadwa Boateng Cosby, the gospel icon sighted how happy she was hearing her songs being played on radio time back.

''It was a great honour, I felt fulfilled. I got the understanding that, My hardwork has been accepted by the populace.'' - she said.

According to her, she gives glory to God of how far she has come in the music Industry adding that, it has been good.

“Every step I take in my life, I look up to God but like every individual has plans, I want God to use me as a vessel and impact positively in people’s lives and take me to a level I deserve,” - she added.




Since Mabel Okyere released her debut album in 2014, her songs have been receiving modest airplay.

She hails from Mampong Nsuta. She was born and bred in Kumasi and is the first of three children – she has a brother and a sister.

Ode Aba is the newest single from Ghanaian Gospel Artiste, Mabel Okyere which features Controversial gospel musician, Brother Sammy.

The gospel songstress also disclosed on the show, its time to honor the legends in the Ghanaian gospel fraternity.

She mentions a few names:

“In the gospel field, there are high profile personalities like: Daughters of Glorious Jesus, Tagoe Sisters, Stella Aba Seal, Rev Yawson, Diana Hopeson, Helena Rabels, Reverend Mary Ghansah and many others who have been in the music business for over twenty five years. I think they deserve a life time achievement awards,”
